Skylab Astronaut Training Program: Part 1

Posted: 08.21.2012

Space cadets: our mission to the dark corners of our galaxy launches in a month! To ensure the success of Mission Blackout, we have a specific protocol each astronaut must complete before take off. Here is the first installment of your specialized astronaut training program to prepare you for the launch.

Each astronaut needs to be prepared with a basic knowledge of the technical and operational protocols of the mission. This includes but is not limited to: the rules and regulations of the launch pad, lineup of sonic pilots, and orbit route. In order to complete basic training, review the information provided on http://www.skylabcolorado.com for a comprehensive understanding of Mission Blackout.

Trust and communication between each member of the crew is key to the success of our mission. Begin assigning your crew today to ensure that no one gets left behind. Furthermore, start getting to know your fellow astronauts by interacting on Facebook, twitter, and Instagram (@GlobalDanceUS). Remember that we are all in this mission together.

During our mission, astronauts will be bombarded with meteoric beats and bass. It is important to undergo integrated simulations in order to prepare yourself for the gravity-defying atmosphere of music. To help you prepare, we have provided you with a list of music to familiarize yourself with before take off:

Triad Dragons Fall 2012 Internship Program

Posted: 08.15.2012

Triad Dragons Entertainment and Global Dance sit at the forefront of Colorado dance music events, producing the biggest electronic music festivals in the Rocky Mountains for over a decade. Events such as Global Dance Festival, Skylab, Global Dub Festival, Caffeine, Hallowfreaknween, Trancegiving, Decadence NYE and signature club nights like NRG Thursdays at Beta – America's #1 nightclub – and Global Fridays at the Church, have elevated Colorado's position as one of the biggest dance music markets in the US. Interns will work closely with Triad Dragons staff members on special projects within one of the listed divisions. This program is meant for college students but is open to anyone 18+. The internship is unpaid, but college credit will be given when available. Interviews will be held in September, please see the application form for specific dates and location. The internship will run from early September through mid-January. Application below!

EVENT PRODUCTION AND PROMOTION
We are looking for creative, out-of-the-box thinkers to help expand the Triad Dragons brand throughout Denver, Boulder and surrounding areas, with a particular emphasis on NRG Thursdays at Beta and Global Fridays at the Church. Opportunities will also exist, as available, to assist with the planning and promotion of upcoming signature Triad Dragons events, specifically Skylab, Hallowfreaknween, Trancegiving and Decadence New Year’s Eve.

MUSIC DEVELOPMENT
Participate in content development for globaldancemusic.com, the go-to site for free downloads of the hottest dance songs from producers around the world. Interns will assist in outreach for music placement on the site, music journalism and brand awareness. We are looking for candidates with excellent written communication skills who are in-the-know about rising artists and trends in the world of EDM.

BROADCAST MEDIA
Interns will have the opportunity to play a major role in putting together the weekly radio show, Global Sessions with Ecotek, which airs every Friday night from 9-11 pm on HOT 107.1, Denver’s FM dance music station. Duties may include setting up interviews with artists and industry guests, developing content for the interview portion of show, creating and updating calendar of local events and marketing and promotional tasks. We are looking for candidates with superb written and verbal communication skills with extensive knowledge of EDM. Journalism, particularly broadcast, experience is a bonus.

ARTIST MANAGEMENT
Assist in the development of the newly launched artist management branch of Global Dance. Interns will assist in growing and maintaining artists’ social networking presence, publicity efforts and brand awareness. We are looking for candidates who have excellent communication skills, are social media savvy and creative.

COLLEGE MARKETING REPRESENTATIVES
We are looking for university students based on each of the area campuses to act as a bridge between Triad Dragons and the college community. Interns will be our eyes and ears on campus and offer a “word on the street” perspective on their college communities, be aware of on-campus events and trends, and build and maintain relationships with key tastemakers (college radio, media, campus organizations, peer groups, greek life, etc.) to further word-of-mouth exposure for events and brand awareness. Ideal candidates have excellent written and verbal communication skills, are highly connected to student life, innovative, have a passion for EDM and understanding of the local scene, and an interest in marketing.

Interns will have opportunities to aid in event planning, help create and execute promotional campaigns, do market research, and participate in on-site promotions. Ideal candidates are involved in the local music and nightlife scene, regular users of various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Foursquare, and are able to attend various Thursday and Friday events in Denver. Written or verbal communication skills, marketing and promotion experience, and leadership skills are a bonus.

Borgore Added To Skylab: Mission Blackout

Posted: 08.13.2012

Skylab: Mission Blackout will take us to the edges of our galaxy where we will uncover mysteries hidden beneath the darkness. Today we are announcing an additional sonic pilot for our adventure into the blackout. Providing us with beats on the heavier side of the bass spectrum on September 22nd will be Borgore!

Borgore's innovative style and uninhibited performances have set him apart as one of the biggest artists in bass music. Gritty basslines, chain-saw filth, and dirty beats are the recipe for his unique sound dubbed 'gorestep', a culmination of dubstep, rap, and heavy metal. Because of his use of filthy beats and lyrics, exhibited in tracks including 'Nympho' and 'Ice Cream', some claim that Borgore "ruined dubstep". This audacious claim bears evidence to how much he has pushed dubstep into new territories, creating a fresh sub-genre that is unique to him alone. His live sets are unlike anything you have ever seen, packed with relentless drops and hedonic performers. Get ready for a performance that will leave you gasping for air as we embrace the darkness.

Stay tuned for more announcements in the coming weeks. Don't forget to start planning your costume!
